What is Car Dashboard?+
Car Dashboard is an app that turns your mounted Android phone into a car cockpit: a big glanceable speedometer, clock, weather, 3D maps, music, internet radio and hands-free calling on one dark, landscape screen. It runs on the phone itself, so it works in any car with no special hardware.
Is Car Dashboard the same as Apple CarPlay or Android Auto?+
No. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto project your apps onto the car's built-in screen and need a compatible head unit. Car Dashboard is a CarPlay-style launcher that makes your phone the display, on a dash mount, in any car. It does not mirror or project your phone screen to a car.
Do I need a special car or head unit?+
No. Because Car Dashboard runs on the phone, it works in any car, including older ones with no infotainment screen. You just need a dash mount and, ideally, a charger since the screen and GPS use power.
When can I download it?+
